Grand Theft Auto Publisher “Very Sanguine” and “Impressed” about Nintendo Switch’s Growth and Sales

During Take-Two’s quarterly financial conference call, President Karl Slatoff gave more color on the publisher’s outlook for the Switch.

Asked whether the company is considering porting more games to Nintendo’s console, Slatoff explained that Take-Two looks at development costs, whether a game is “right for the platform,” what does the audience look like, and the installed base, and when they believe there is an opportunity to do something more on Switch then we’ll hear that from the publisher’s labels.

That being said, Take-Two is “impressed” with the growth of the console and its sales, and they’re “very sanguine” about it at this point, even if for now they have nothing specific to announce.

Take-Two’s primary labels are Rockstar Games, known for Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, 2K Games, which is likely to release a new Borderlands in the next fiscal year, and the newly-revealed indie-driven Private Division.

Recently, the publisher released NBA 2K18, WWE 2K18 and L.A. Noire on Nintendo Switch, but has not announced new games for the platform since. It’ll be interesting to see what might come next.
