Universal Orlando Resort has unveiled plans for the Universal Helios Grand Hotel, a luxurious 500-room resort set to open in 2025 at Universal’s upcoming Epic Universe theme park. Named after the Greek god of the sun, Helios promises a unique and immersive experience for guests.

The hotel boasts numerous perks for guests, including its prime location with a dedicated entrance to Epic Universe. Guests staying at Helios, as well as Universal’s other hotels, will have access to early park admission and a complimentary shuttle bus. The collaboration between Universal and Loews Hotels has resulted in a Mediterranean-inspired look for Helios, complete with lush gardens and elegant water features.

Described by Universal as “palatial,” Helios aims to blend immersion and relaxation seamlessly. The hotel’s lobby features floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of the new Celestial Park at Epic Universe. The rooms are designed to evoke the tranquility of a blissful garden, with suites themed around How to Train Your Dragon specifically catered to children. Helios also offers a range of amenities, including a gym, game room, store, and the full-service Flora Taverna restaurant.

In addition to the Flora Taverna, Helios features a coffee shop named Aurora Market and a rooftop lounge called Bar Helios, offering guests drinks, food, and panoramic views of Epic Universe. The hotel’s pool is a highlight, complete with underwater speakers, cabanas, a hot tub, and poolside movies. Guests can enjoy the poolside bar and grill, Lotus Lagoon, for a relaxing dining experience.

While pricing for rooms and suites at Helios has not been disclosed, it is evident that this luxurious experience will come at a premium. The addition of Helios brings the total number of rooms across Universal’s hotels to 11,000, making it a significant player in the resort industry. With branding changes to its hotel offerings, Universal is setting itself up as a formidable competitor to nearby rival Disney World, which is also undergoing major updates and renovations at Magic Kingdom.

The Universal Helios Grand Hotel represents a new standard of luxury and immersion in the world of theme park resorts. With its Greek-inspired design, top-tier amenities, and exclusive offerings, Helios is poised to become a sought-after destination for travelers seeking a premium experience at Universal’s Epic Universe.
