Samsung, known as the world’s largest seller of smart TVs, is facing increasing competition from Chinese companies such as Hisense and TCL. Recent research from analytics firm Omdia revealed that Samsung’s market share had decreased by over 2 percent in the first half of the year, while TCL and Hisense were gaining ground with 12.1 percent and 10 percent of the market share, respectively. In response to this competitive landscape, Samsung is looking to maintain its market leadership through strategic updates to its product lineup.
