Konami has openly acknowledged the disastrous launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection and is committed to ensuring a smoother release for the upcoming Vol. 2. The initial collection faced a multitude of issues such as limited graphics and control options, along with technical glitches on all platforms which led to negative reviews and tarnished the overall reputation of the Master Collection.

Vol. 2 In the Works

In a recent episode of Konami’s Production Hotline series, production producer Noriaki Okamura confirmed the development of a follow-up collection, referred to as Vol. 2. Okamura expressed the company’s strong desire to learn from past mistakes and improve upon the previous launch. Despite the challenges faced by Vol. 1, Konami is dedicated to making sure that Vol. 2 does not encounter the same issues, although they are urging fans to be patient during the process.

Exciting Updates

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 featured remasters of the first three games in the series, and while the games included in the second collection have not been officially announced, hints suggest that Metal Gear Solid 4 may finally be making its way out of its 18-year confinement on the PS3. Additionally, Okamura shared that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is already playable from start to finish and assured fans that the release date is not far off. Konami aims for Metal Gear Solid Delta to be incredibly faithful to the original, and emphasized the decision to remove the “Hideo Kojima game” label.

As Konami works on redeeming the Metal Gear Solid franchise with the upcoming Vol. 2 collection, fans can look forward to improvements based on lessons learned from the troubled Vol. 1 release. With exciting developments on the horizon, including the potential release of Metal Gear Solid 4 and the progress of the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, the future looks promising for fans of the iconic series.
