Bandai Namco has announced a collaboration with Hello Kitty to release a new batch of Hello Kitty-themed Tamagotchi devices later this year. The new collection will feature two Tamagotchi Nanos and a new version of the Tamagotchi Uni. These new Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nanos will have the same features as other Tamagotchis, starting as an egg that grows into an adult form through feeding and playing mini-games. The devices will include Hello Kitty-specific content, such as being able to feed your virtual pet Hello Kitty’s favorite foods like milk and apple pie. Additionally, Hello Kitty will assist in keeping your Tamagotchi’s room clean and also accompany it on trips. Once your Tamagotchi is fully grown, it will transform into one of seven adult forms, with two exclusive adult forms specific to the Hello Kitty Tamagotchis. The new Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nanos will be available for $20 starting July 9, with preorders currently open on Amazon in red and blue shell designs.

In addition to the new Tamagotchi Nanos, Bandai Namco will also launch a new Tamagotchi Uni featuring Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters. Similar to the first line of Tamagotchi Uni devices, the Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters is an updated version of the classic Tamagotchi with modern features like a color screen, expanded mini games with collectible items, and internet connectivity for sharing your virtual pet’s fashion on the “Tamaverse.” The Tamagotchi Uni x Sanrio Characters will be available for $70 starting July 12, featuring a pink watch band and a Hello Kitty-themed device shell. Players will also have the opportunity to collect costumes and other in-game items inspired by Hello Kitty and other Sanrio mascots.

This collaboration is not the first time Bandai Namco has released Hello Kitty Tamagotchi devices. In 2020, the company launched a pair of Hello Kitty! Tamagotchis, which are still available on Amazon along with a variety of other Tamagotchi devices. These include versions based on popular movies like Jurassic Park and Star Wars, as well as anime such as Jujustu Kaisen and Demon Slayer. The selection of Tamagotchis available on Amazon is constantly evolving, so fans can explore the range of devices to find their perfect virtual companion.
