The Fallout London mod, a project aiming to bring the nuclear wasteland to the capital of England, is facing delays due to the impending next-gen update for Fallout 4. The update is expected to “break” many mods, including Fallout London, as they rely on the Fallout 4 script extender that is likely to be affected by the update.

The team behind Fallout London had initially planned to release the mod on April 23. However, with Bethesda’s announcement of the next-gen update launching on April 25, the release date is now uncertain. Project lead Dean Carter explained that the team will need to wait for fixes from the modders behind the extender before proceeding with the release.

According to Carter, systems based on F4 SE, which are crucial for the dialogue systems in Fallout London, will break with the update. Additionally, new features such as the updated UI and perks system will also require fixing after the update drops. The team at Team Folon acknowledges that players can opt-out of the update, but they are committed to delivering a stable experience for all players.

Fallout London is reported to be around 30 to 40 gigabytes in size, making it too large for release on consoles or mod hosting websites like NexusMods. However, the team has found a way to make the mod available for players who own the game on GOG, providing a potential solution to the technical constraints they are facing.

The Fallout London mod is facing significant challenges and delays due to the Fallout 4 next-gen update. The team is working hard to address the technical issues caused by the update and ensure a smooth release for players. While the release date remains uncertain, the team’s dedication to delivering a high-quality mod experience is evident. Players eagerly anticipating the Fallout London mod will need to exercise patience as the team navigates through these unforeseen obstacles.
