During Nintendo’s Partner Showcase, one of the biggest surprises was the announcement of the Capcom Fighting Collection 2, set to release in 2025. This collection will feature eight classic games from franchises like Street Fighter and Capcom vs. SNK, along with various enhancements such as additional settings, training modes, rollback netcode, and more.

Visual and Audio Enhancements

One of the notable changes in the upcoming collection is the alteration of certain stage visuals in each game. Additionally, players will have the option to change stage music in the EX Settings, allowing them to choose between the original soundtrack or nostalgic tracks from other Capcom and SNK arcade titles.

In Capcom Fighting Collection 2, players will now have the ability to switch between different versions of the game via the EX Settings. They can choose to play the arcade version or the Capcom vs. SNK 2 EO version. However, it’s important to note that roll canceling into a move no longer grants invincibility in the EO version. Furthermore, certain characters like Evil Ryu, Orochi Iori, Shin Akuma, and Ultimate Rugal have been added to the playable roster.

The EX Settings also include a Same Character Selection option, allowing players to have multiple instances of the same character on their team. Additionally, characters like Shin Akuma, Pyron, Final M. Bison, Kraken, Valgas, Pride, Mel, Kaede, and Rai-on are now accessible as hidden characters through the Game Settings menu. Moreover, some character transformations and visuals have been altered to enhance the overall gameplay experience.

Story and Gameplay Updates

Aside from character additions and visual changes, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 also features tweaks to the English version, alterations in story visuals, and the addition of pre-made Edit Characters that can be used in matches. These updates aim to provide players with new opportunities to explore the game and enjoy a fresh gameplay experience.

Community Response and Investigation

Capcom’s decision to make changes to their retro re-releases, including Capcom Fighting Collection 2, has sparked curiosity among fans. Many enthusiasts are already delving into the specifics of the alterations made to each game in the collection, eager to uncover the nuances and improvements that Capcom has implemented.

The evolution of Capcom Fighting Collection 2 presents an exciting opportunity for fans to revisit classic titles with a fresh perspective.
