Club386 claims to have spoken with an unnamed source at Computex, revealing that AMD is planning to launch 3D V-cache equipped versions of its Ryzen 9000 processors in the near future. While AMD has remained tight-lipped about specific release dates, it has hinted at “really cool differentiators” in the works.

If the rumors hold true and AMD indeed introduces 3D V-cache variants of the Ryzen 9000 series in September, it would mark a significant departure from the company’s usual product introduction timeline. Historically, there has been a considerable gap between the announcement of new architectures and the release of X3D variants. For instance, it took around 18 months between Zen 3 and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D debuts, and nearly six months between Zen 4 and Ryzen 9 7950X3D launches. Therefore, a mere three-month gap would be unprecedented. However, given that 3D V-cache technology is not entirely new, with AMD incorporating additional L3 cache slices in processors for over two years, a swift release may not be entirely surprising.

Speculations about the potential 3D V-cache variants of the Ryzen 9000 series have led to conjectures about which processors may receive the upgrade. It is highly likely that we will see 16-core Ryzen 9 9950X3D, 12-core Ryzen 9900X3D, and 8-core Ryzen 9800X3D models.
