The upcoming seventh major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 promises to bring dynamic splitscreen functionality to the game. This feature will allow co-op players to merge their screens when they are close to each other, emphasizing the power of friendship in overcoming obstacles, even virtual ones. Players will have the option to toggle this feature directly from the HUD or within the game’s settings, whether they are in or out of combat.

Patch 7 also introduces expansions for Honour mode, including the addition of Legendary Actions for certain creatures. These mode-exclusive unique actions will be available to creatures like the bulette, Malus Thorm, and githyanki Ch’r’ai Tska’an, Ch’r’ai Har’rak, and Ptaris. Additionally, local hobgoblin Dror Ragzlin will now have an Arachnid Compulsion ability, allowing him to summon pit spiders to attack players.

One of the most exciting additions in the upcoming patch is the modding toolkit, which will allow players to customize various aspects of the game. This toolkit will enable players to modify items such as weapons and armor, cosmetic features like hair and textures, races, classes, subclasses, user interface, and even the dice used during skill checks. Larian Studios is collaborating with specific mod authors to test the tools before the official launch in September.

Players exploring the darker side of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be pleased to discover new campaign endings for both Origin characters and custom creations. Each new cinematic ending can be unlocked through nefarious means, adding a fresh layer of depth to the game. In addition to the new endings, the patch also includes various bug fixes and improvements for Dark Urge players. For example, the issue where the rest of the party would ignore a companion’s murder has been rectified. Furthermore, Minthara will now react appropriately if players have been stripped of Bhaal’s influence.

Despite the exciting new features and improvements, some players may still find reasons to be dissatisfied with the patch. For instance, the inability to romantically pursue the character Gortash may disappoint some fans. While it may be challenging to remember every character in the vast world of Baldur’s Gate 3, the desire to engage romantically with various characters is a testament to the game’s compelling storytelling and character development.

The seventh major patch for Baldur’s Gate 3 offers a plethora of new content and features to enhance the gaming experience for players. From dynamic splitscreen functionality to modding tools and new endings for evil playthroughs, the patch aims to cater to the diverse preferences of the fanbase. Despite some lingering disappointments, the overall reception of the patch appears to be positive, setting the stage for even more exciting updates in the future.
