Japanese publication Famitsu recently conducted a survey among players of Nintendo’s highly anticipated game, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The survey aimed to identify the players’ favorite characters, best field, most memorable enemy, preferred abilities, and more. While the survey included a small sample size of 1290 participants, it provides valuable insights into the preferences of the game’s vast player base.

Unsurprisingly, the beloved Princess Zelda emerged as the top choice among the participants, receiving a staggering 657 votes. Trailing behind in second place was the iconic protagonist, Link, garnering 515 votes. The third spot was secured by Tulin with 239 votes, followed closely by Sidon with 220 votes. The rest of the characters had varying degrees of popularity, with Ganondorf ranking eighth with 95 votes. It’s worth noting that not every respondent answered all the questions, so it’s essential to interpret these results with caution.

The survey also delved into the most memorable enemy encounters in Tears of the Kingdom. Gloom Spawn claimed the top position, securing 252 votes, while Gleeok followed closely with 206 votes. Colgera, although less prevalent, still left an impression on the players with its unique characteristics, earning 31 votes. Lynel and Like Like also featured as notable enemies among the participants’ responses.

Regarding favorite abilities, Ultrahand emerged as the winner with 31.4% of the votes, followed by Ascend with 24.2% and Recall with 19.5%. The remaining abilities, Fuse and Autobuild, received 17.4% and 7.4% of the votes, respectively. Moving on to weapons, the iconic Master Sword unsurprisingly claimed the top spot with 407 votes, reflecting its legendary status among players. The Savage Lynel Bow and Royal Broadsword followed behind with 55 votes each.

In terms of the game’s best field, Surface came out on top with 58.8% of the votes, while Sky and The Depths received 22.6% and 18.6% of the votes respectively. As for Zonai devices, the Fan was the undisputed favorite among players, amassing 680 votes. The Steering Stick secured a close second with 637 votes, highlighting its popularity as well.

Participants also had the opportunity to express their preferences for build materials, dishes, and areas within the game. In the category of build materials, the Silver Lynel Saber Horn emerged as the most favored with 189 votes. The Silver Bokoblin Horn and Silver Lizalfos Horn followed with 106 and 63 votes respectively. Unfortunately, specific dishes and areas did not receive enough responses to yield meaningful results.

The survey conducted by Famitsu provides valuable insights into the preferences of players eagerly awaiting the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The results highlight the enduring popularity of iconic characters like Princess Zelda and Link, as well as the significance of memorable enemies and essential abilities like the Ultrahand. As the game’s release date approaches, it will be interesting to see if these preferences align with the experiences of the wider player base.
