The latest iteration of the Rimac Nevera, the Nevera R, has been unveiled by Rimac, boasting even faster acceleration and higher horsepower compared to its predecessor. The electric supercar is said to be able to reach 60mph from a standstill in just 1.74 seconds, which is a tenth of a second quicker than the original Nevera. Additionally, the Nevera R is reported to generate a whopping 2,107 horsepower, an increase of about 200 horsepower from the previous model.
In addition to its impressive acceleration and horsepower figures, the Rimac Nevera R also offers improved aerodynamics, increased downforce, and enhanced grip. These enhancements have allowed the car to shave off 3.8 seconds from its lap time on the Nardo Ring, a high-speed track owned by Porsche in Italy. The Nevera R is designed to deliver an exhilarating driving experience, with unparalleled performance and handling capabilities.
Like its predecessor, the Rimac Nevera R requires “manufacturer oversight” to unlock its top speed of 256mph. Without this oversight, the car is limited to a still impressive top speed of 217mph. The Nevera R is equipped with a 108kWh battery, which Rimac estimates will provide around 250 miles of range under the European WLTP cycle. However, the range has yet to be certified, but it is expected to offer a balance of performance and practicality for drivers looking to experience the thrill of electric supercars.
While the Rimac Nevera R may be out of reach for many enthusiasts due to its limited production numbers and high price tag, Rimac is also working on developing autonomous driving technology for their forthcoming Croatian robotaxis. These robotaxis may provide a more accessible option for individuals to experience the innovative technology and performance capabilities that Rimac has to offer.
The Rimac Nevera R represents a significant advancement in electric supercar technology, with improved acceleration, horsepower, aerodynamics, and performance capabilities.
