After almost a year-long self-imposed exile, the popular fighting game MultiVersus is making a comeback next week. The decision to pull the game from sale and shut down its servers left many fans disappointed, especially those who had invested real money into unlocking costumes and other in-game items. However, the developers are now offering something special to make up for their absence.

Player First Games has announced that anyone who participated in MultiVersus’ beta will be able to access the first season’s premium battle pass without having to spend any money. This means that players will have the opportunity to unlock the game’s coveted Jason Voorhees character for free, a reward that was previously only available to paying customers. Additionally, beta players will receive exclusive rewards such as a costume for Adventure Time’s Finn the Human and a special edition ringout animation.

The developers have also promised to increase the number of “high-value” items in both the free and premium battle passes. This includes ringouts, alternate characters, taunts, and in-game currency. In a similar fashion to Fortnite, players who progress far enough in the battle pass will earn enough in-game currency to cover the cost of the next battle pass without having to spend real money. This new system allows players to pay once and continue to unlock content over the eight-week duration of the pass.

Fans of Adventure Time will be delighted to know that the Banana Guard will be introduced as a playable character, along with a special Lady Banana Guard variation. Players who participated in the open beta will also have the option to change their announcer to a Banana Guard voice pack, adding a fun and unexpected twist to the game.

To access the new content and rewards, players must log in to the free-to-play game between the (re)launch date on May 28th and June 11th. Based on early reviews, MultiVersus shows promise as a compelling alternative to Smash Bros on PC, especially for fans of Warner Bros IP.

The return of MultiVersus brings with it exciting new features, rewards, and improvements for both new and returning players. With a renewed focus on player satisfaction and value, the developers have made significant strides in enhancing the overall gaming experience. So mark your calendars and get ready to dive back into the action-packed world of MultiVersus!
