Warner Bros.’ fighting game MultiVersus is making a comeback later this year on May 28th after being temporarily taken down following an extensive open beta last year. The relaunch comes with some exciting updates, including a new game engine – the Unreal Engine 5. This means players can expect enhanced graphics and smoother gameplay overall. Additionally, MultiVersus will now feature improved netcode, ensuring better online connections for players around the world.

In a recent announcement video, MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh expressed gratitude for the feedback received during the open beta phase. “The team has heard your feedback, and we’ve learned a lot from our open beta,” stated Huynh. With player input in mind, the developers are dedicated to delivering a gaming experience that not only impresses but also contributes positively to the genre.

One of the highlights of the relaunched MultiVersus is the introduction of a brand new PvE mode, set to be available at launch in May. This mode will come with its own set of in-game rewards, although specific details have not been disclosed by Huynh and Warner Bros. just yet. This new mode could potentially be reminiscent of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s popular World of Light single-player mode, offering players a new way to experience the game beyond traditional PvP battles.

MultiVersus’ return to PC and consoles this year marks a significant moment for fans who have been eagerly awaiting its comeback. The game was originally listed as an ‘open beta,’ which led to some confusion among players as the beta continued for an extended period before being taken offline in April 2023. Despite its initial launch status, MultiVersus managed to capture the attention of the gaming community, prompting high expectations for its relaunch.

MultiVersus is gearing up for a highly-anticipated return with significant improvements and new features. With a revamped game engine, enhanced netcode, and the addition of a PvE mode, players can look forward to an even more engaging and immersive gaming experience when MultiVersus relaunches on May 28th. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements as the launch date approaches.
